Jim Carroll’s spoken-word performances were what hooked me and started all this.
I remember conversations I had with him trying to explain how absolutely mind blowing his spoken-word performances were for me, how powerful they were. Well, my arguments didn’t make a freakin’ dent, even over like 20 years.
Jim didn’t want me to share my audio recordings of his performances. He was OK with me recording them, but, you know, I couldn’t share them. I didn’t. But now? I honestly don’t know what the situation is now.
I have always disagreed with him about this. I understand his worries as an individual performing in public. If I was in his position I would totally not want someone recording me and streaming it on the interwebs.
I would like to share everything I think is important – and not in any way embarrassing or detrimental to Jim Carroll, the person and artist I adore and would never intentionally harm in any way.
Anyway . . . I have also realized my 1990s audio page leaves much to be desired. I created a new page to experiment with different ways to display audio.
I will be adding all new audio to this new “experiment” page. I hope you will check it out.
brilliant.
thanks so much as always, Cassie.
and thank you for doing so much to keep Jim with us.
Thank you!
