<\/strong>\u201cJust Like Sherlock Holmes<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cCops Talk<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cStreet of Crocodiles<\/strong>,\u201d and \u201cAmerican Woman<\/strong>\u201d were originally written during Ray\u2019s collaboration with Jim Carroll in the mid-eighties. As mentioned in the \u201cTranslucent Blues<\/a>\u201d notes, Ray and Jim Carroll went into the studio in 1986 and recorded a set of these songs, and others existed only on demo tapes that have remained unreleased to this day. Ray had also been rehearsing all of these songs with Robby Krieger in the mid-2000s and even went into the studio and recorded a few demos with Ian Astbury on vocals. D21C performed \u201cCops Talk\u201d live a few times as well as the Manzarek\/Carroll tune \u201cAmerican Express<\/strong>\u201d. Ray obviously loved these tunes and wanted them to be released. He was very excited to finally get them out to the fans on \u201cTwisted Tales\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>“Hurricane<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cTension<\/strong>\u201d are remakes of two unreleased tunes from the \u201980s collaboration of Ray Manzarek and author\/poet\/punk musician Jim Carroll. In 1986 Ray and Jim went into the studio and recorded these and other tunes, and they have remained unreleased for almost 30 years. Ray decided to rework two of the tunes and include them in this release. Ray would rework an additional four tunes from the Manzarek\/Carroll sessions for the posthumously released Twisted Tales.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
