Jim Carroll at Columbus Theater
Providence, RI, 3 February 2001
Review by Kevin Deleo
As a jaded, somewhat faded 50 year old, I was absolutely re-energized by Jim’s show. A completely packed audience was taken on a roller coaster of sheer joy and laughter. Jim’s performance connected us to him and back again. At the risk of sounding like an old hippie (what’s so funny about peace, etc) the place was filled with love. Thank you, Jim, for lettin us be with you.
Webmaster’s note:
The Columbus Theater is an old movie theater that now offers a healthy mix of porno flicks and arts fare. On this occasion, Jim appeared as the headliner on the theater’s marquee, above the name of a film title along the lines of Debbie Does Dallas. I find this quite amusing and appropriate. So did Jim, who told me about it! Jim was quite impressed by the historic theater itself.–Cassie
